Student Accident Insurance

Our school/district has selected the Student Insurance Plan from K&K Insurance Group to make reliable coverage available to parents.  If you don't have other insurance, this plan may be a resource to consider.  Additionally, even if you have other coverage, this plan can help fill expensive "gaps" caused by deductible and co-pays.  Coverage may be purchased at any time during the school year by visiting www.studentinsurance-kk.com.

Parent-Teacher Conferences are September 24th and 25th ...

  • Wednesday, September 24th is a 2:00 dismissal, and conferences are from 2:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.
  • Thursday, September 25th is a regular school day, and conferences are from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
  • There is no school on Friday, Septembern 26th


Below is a map of the Auxiliary Gym, showing the location of each teacher. Teachers that are shared with another school are marked (*), and will be at the high school on Thursday, from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

There are no individual times assigned to parents. Parents may visit with teachers during any of the designated conference hours on Wednesday and Thursday.

Homecoming Dance, 2014

  • All dates that are out of school or out of town must be registered in the office prior to the dance. Dates must be registered at the time tickets are purchased. Out of school dates are required to bring an I.D to the dance. Unregistered dates WILL NOT be admitted to the dance. All dates must be under 21 years of age.
  • Blair students only may purchase a ticket at the door the night of the dance for $5
  • Once you have entered the dance, you may not leave and return.
  • Doors close to the dance at 8:30. No one is admitted after 8:30.
  • Middle school students are NOT allowed at the dance … even if this is your date.
  • Dance theme: Here’s To The Night – “STARS”

Juniors & Seniors:  The following colleges will be here during AEP to visit with any interested student. Please get a pass from the school counseling office at least one day in advance to attend.

**Class Rings: Jostens will be here during AEP on Tuesday, Spetember 23rd to meet with Sophomores about class rings. Interested Sophomores will receive a packet for ordering rings. After that meeting, additional packets will be available in the office for any other students wishing to order rings. Jostens will be here during the lunch hour on Thursday, September 25th, to take orders for rings. (25)

**ATTENTION SENIORS AND SENIOR PARENTS: Jostens will be here on Monday, September 22nd to meet with seniors about graduation orders. This will include cap, gown, and stole orders, announcements, and any other available items. Seniors will receive an ordering packet at this meeting. Jostens will return on Thursday, September 25th to take orders during the lunch hour. (25)

**MCC will offer vision screening during Parent-Teacher conferences Wed Sept 24 and Thurs Sept 25. Please sign up for a time to help with Nurse Turner. Points will be given for each hour worked (20)

**FBLA: We will be helping at Joseph's Coat on Monday, September 22, from 3:45 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. Please sign the list outside Room 305 if you can help. 1 point. You will need to enter the building from the back door. See Mrs. Olson if you have questions. (22)

**JUNIORS: Want to earn a free prom ticket ($20 value)? If so work the concession stand on Friday, September 26. There will be two shifts. If you work two shifts you will earn two tickets. Sign up outside Mrs. Baker's room (304). (25)

**SENIOR scholarship opportunity - Just a reminder to all seniors that the Washington County Recycling Association will award several $1000 scholarships to seniors who have completed a minimum of 50 hours of volunteering at the recycling center. All students completing the minimum 50 hours, will be eligible to apply for the scholarship. Just show up to work at the recycling center on Saturday mornings and log your hours. The recycling center is open from 8:00 - 12:00. (25)

**FBLA: Dues will be due by September 30. Please pay your $10 to Michael Demers, treasurer, or Mrs. Olson in Room 305. (23)

**Juniors who plan to take the PSAT in October must register in the School Counseling Office by Wednesday, Sept. 24th.  Please bring your check for $15, made payable to Blair Community Schools to register and pick up your review packet.  Please stop by the School Counseling Office for more information. **Seniors who wish to take the ACT Preparation classes in October should register for these classes in the School Counseling Office by Wednesday, Sept. 24th.  Seats will be reserved on a first come, first serve, basis. Please stop by the School Counseling Office for more information. (24)

          If you had pictures taken and purchased pictures in August, and would like retakes, please present your original packet to the photographer at retake time.
          If you have never had your picture taken this year, please do so on this date. These are the pictures that go in the yearbook.
          If taking pictures for the first time this year, and purchasing a packet, present your payment packet to the photographer at the time your picture is taken. Ordering packets will be available in the office the week before retakes.
          The photographer will be here for about an hour, beginning at 8:30 a.m.
          If you ordered pictures from Interstate Studios, and there is a problem with your order, you may contact them at 402-592-0455.
