Speech: On Tuesday, February 20th, the BHS Speech Team will be showcasing some of their events in the auditorium. Three areas will run a variety of programs and we will have light refreshments in the commons area. The program will begin at 5:30 pm, but viewers can move to other rooms in between performances. Come out to support the students!
Friday morning ACT prep class starts this Friday, Feb. 16th at 8:00 a.m. in room 309. Even though there is no school, the ACT prep class will be in session.
There's a meeting for all boys planning on playing soccer this spring Monday, February 19th right after school in Mr. Johnson's room (122). If you cannot attend, see Mr. Johnson.
FFA Week is February 19-23, 2018. ANYONE can participate in Monday and Tuesday's activities. Thursday and Friday's activities are just for FFA members.
Monday: Wear: Blue and gold or FFA gear, Do: Participate in the milkshake mustache contest in the library during AEP
Tuesday: Wear: A hat Do: Bring $2 or a package of toilet paper for the food pantry in order to wear that hat. Bring donations to Mrs. Hensley's room (201) to receive your sticker to wear your hat.
Wednesday: (FFA members only): Wear: Official FFA Dress Do: Sign up to help with the teacher appreciation breakfast which will be held before school on Wednesday
Thursday: (FFA members only): Wear: Flannel Do: Drive your tractor to school day (permission slips available in Mrs. Hensley's room and due to the main office by 3:30pm Tuesday, Feb 20th) & Bring your own meat to be grilled at the greenhouse during lunch. Sides & drinks provided.
Auditions for the 2018 Pops Concert will take place Monday, February 26th starting at 6:30 PM in the auditorium. Please contact Mr. Hutsell or Mr. Mount by Thursday, February 22nd to register for the audition and ask any questions.
Auditions for this year's spring play (April 26, 27, 28) will be in the auditorium 3:30-5:00 on Tuesday, 2/20 and Wednesday, 2/21. ONLY come to one audition. Callbacks by invitation on Thursday, 2/22. This year's play, You Can't Take It With You, is a comedy set in the 1930s. Scripts and audition information will be available this Wednesday on the Drama Google Classroom site or see Mrs. Westphal in #312.
Anyone interested in trying out for cheer or dance for the 2018-2019 school year should attend an informational meeting on Wednesday, February 21st in the high school auditorium. The meeting will start at 5:30 and will cover information on both cheer and dance tryouts. Parents are highly encouraged to attend. Students need to be entering high school or currently enrolled at the high school to be eligible to tryout. UNO Dual Enrollment Meeting - Students who are currently in AP English and Nutrition should plan to meet during AEP on Wednesday, February 14th in the auditorium. A representative from UNO's Dual Enrollment department will be here to present information about earning college credit for these classes. You will be dismissed from AEP by the intercom.
Donate Blood, Friday, Feb. 23rd!
Students 16 years of age and older can donate blood at Blair's National Honor Society Blood Drive on Registration Day, Friday, Feb. 23rd
. The Blood Drive runs from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

. Type in 68008 under Find a Blood Drive. Click on the time you want to donate and sign up. You'll be here to register for classes anyway, why not give blood after you register? Get your parents to sign up as well. 16 year olds can get a parent consent form in the Counseling Office. See Mrs. Griffin with questions.
Spring Athletes: if you are participating in a spring sport, you need to turn in a physical, NSAA parent consent form, and $60 for an activity fee before February 26th, the first day of practice. If you have any questions, please stop by the office. If you participated in a fall or winter sport, you do not have to complete this. You are good to go.
Exploring Posts for 2nd semester are starting their registration process online at www.omahaexploring.org. Look under "Exploring Programs" to find these Posts. Take the opportunity to find out more about careers in different areas. Meeting dates and times vary.
