Asbestos Management Summary - As is typical of buildings constructed prior to 1988, asbestos-containing building materials (ACBM) have been identified in our building(s). The EPA, under its Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA), requires that all K-12 education agencies possess an asbestos management plan which is designed to minimize disturbance of these materials. One component of this plan is the re-inspection of our facility/facilities by accredited asbestos inspectors every three (3) years.
Additionally, Building Administration directs an ongoing asbestos operations and maintenance program, including periodic surveillance inspections which are conducted on a semi-annual basis and the selective removal of ACBM when required for renovation or maintenance activities.
Please rest assured that Building Administration’s ongoing efforts related to the management and control of asbestos-containing materials are focused on providing a safe environment for our building occupants and employees.
If you have any questions, or would like to review the management plan, please feel free to contact the District’s Asbestos Designated Person, Leon D. Haith, at (402) 426-2610.
