Hello! I am Beth L.Welke, the Pre-K-3 Principal at the new Deerfield Primary School. I have been with Blair Community Schools since the 1998-1999 school year. I moved to Blair from Springview, NE where I began my teaching career in a first and second grade classroom and then a kindergarten classroom until 1995. In 1995 I was elected Keya Paha County Superintendent of Schools and served in that role until moving to Blair in July of 1998.
I was born and raised in Rapid City, SD. I attended Chadron State College where I majored in elementary education. In 1995 I began working on my MA degree in Educational Administration at the University of Nebraska at Kearney, completing that degree in December of 1998.
I have three children - Lindsay, Adam and Sydney. My husband, Lawrence (Woody), works at Mid America Computer Corporation in Blair. I enjoy gardening, technology, shopping and spending time at my children's many activities.
