Mr. Jim Sides
Principal
Mr. Jim Sides has been the Principal at Otte Blair Middle School since the 1998/1999 school year. Before becoming Principal, Mr. Sides was an assistant principal in Elkhorn, Nebraska and Vermillion, South Dakota. Prior to this, he taught Social Studies and coached in Norfolk, Nebraska and Akron, Iowa. Mr. Sides attended the University of Northern Iowa, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education. (Major Social Science) He completed a Master of Arts in Educational Administration from the University of South Dakota.
Mr. Sides is originally from Carroll, Iowa. He is married to Bev and she is a Dental Hygienist. Mr. Sides has two children. Son Scott, is a Navy Pilot and daughter Melissa, is an elementary/special education major at Northwest Missouri State. When he is not working, Mr. Sides enjoys playing sports, traveling, and reading.
