Students close their eyes and let their fingers choose a texture plate.

Kindergarten Art Students listened to the story Cat’s Colors written by the Caldecott Honors winner, Jane Cabrera. This is a story about a black-and-orange kitten who asks, "What is my favorite color?" and looks at its color choices, one by one.
Students combined geometric shapes to form a cat. Then students drew their favorite colored objects and positioned them in their location on a color wheel. Finally students chose texture plates and placed it under their pictures. As students colored texture magically appeared on the surface of the paper
