Who is an Art Star?

by Shelley Schoby, K-2 Art Specialist

An Art Star of the Month is a student that is a kid of character. They are demonstrating behavior characteristics of; kindness to other students, respect to the teacher and the classroom, responsible and are good listeners. These students are caring and help others. Are these students the top students academically or artistically? They might be gifted or a low to normal academic or artistic students. Each time an Art Student is caught being a kid of character, they write their name on a slip of paper. The slip of paper is deposited in a bowl. At the end of each month a student’s name is drawn from their class bowl. Every kid of character has a chance to be an Art Star.
