Warm Hearts and Helping Hands

In art this week, students were
introduced to the idea that artists use color to add to an

Students were introduced to the artists Georgia O’Keeffe and George
Agnew Reid. Both artists used mostly warm or cool colors in their
artwork to help the viewer understand what it would feel like to
live in Canada and New Mexico.
Students created a shape collage of a Warm Hearts and Helping Hands
by grouping geometric, free form and organic shapes together. Warm
colors were placed in the heart, cool colors filled shapes in the
negative space and neutral colors were located on the hand.
