Amazing Hands
First graders in Mrs. Samson's classroom at South School read a non-fiction book entitled "Amazing Hands." The boys and girls learned about the number of bones in hands as well as information on joints, blood vessels, and muscles found in hands.
Of particular interest to them was information on the three types of fingerprints people have. The students decided they would like to help their classmates identify their type of fingerprint. They planned and created a stand in the classroom for students to visit. They helped their classmates make a fingerprint and helped them identify their type.
