Arbor Day Celebrated!
The students in Mrs. Andersen’s 2nd grade classroom at South School were invited to help plant 3 trees at Steyer Park for an Arbor Day tree planting ceremony. The trees included a Crimson King Maple, a Harlequin Maple, and a Vanderwolf’s Limber Pine. Mayor Jim Realph was present to declare April 25th as Arbor Day in Blair. The children helped spread the mulch around each tree and water them. To conclude the ceremony, a small tree was sent home with each child to plant. The student’s names were also placed on plaques by each tree.
